510 carts vs all-in-one disposables vs pod systems
510-thread cartridges screw onto a separate battery (sold separately or you may already own one). Pros: cheapest per gram of oil, swap carts easily, adjustable voltage on better batteries. Cons: requires owning a battery, batteries can die at bad times. All-in-one disposables are self-contained and ready to use out of the box. Pros: no battery needed, simple. Cons: a bit more expensive per gram of oil, throw the whole thing out when empty. Pod systems (PAX, etc.) require a proprietary device but tend to deliver cleaner draws and longer battery life.
Live resin vs live rosin vs distillate
Distillate is highly refined THC oil with added terpenes — strongest and most affordable per mg of THC, but often less flavorful. Live resin is extracted from fresh-frozen flower using solvents and preserves more original plant terpenes — more flavor, more nuance, premium pricing. Live rosin is solventless, made with heat and pressure on fresh-frozen flower — the purest extract type, most expensive per gram.
