Fresh Pressed Rosin: Solventless Hash Rosin in NYC

Fresh-frozen flower is agitated in ice water to knock the trichome heads loose. Those heads are sieved through progressively finer micron bags, dried, and then pressed between heated plates at low temperature. The oil that flows out is rosin. Nothing else is added at any step — no butane, no propane, no ethanol, no post-processing.

Live rosin starts from fresh-frozen material and carries the loudest terpene profile. Cured rosin is pressed from hash made out of dried, cured flower — deeper and often more earthy or gassy. Flower rosin is pressed directly from bud without the water-hash step; it's cheaper, less refined, and typically lower yield. Grade labels like 5-star or 6-star hash refer to how melty and contaminant-free the starting hash is — 6-star fully melts on a nail.

Both start from fresh-frozen flower. Live resin uses hydrocarbon solvents to strip the oil, then purges them off; live rosin uses ice water and a press. Live resin is usually cheaper and can hit higher THC numbers. Live rosin costs more per gram and is the answer for people who don't want any solvent in the process at all. Flavor is a preference call, not a hierarchy — resin often reads sharper, rosin rounder and creamier.

Rosin is heat-sensitive. Dab low — 480–520°F — and use small amounts; the flavor arrives in the first second and scorches quickly. Store it cold, sealed, and dark. Fresh pressed rosin will naturally shift texture over time (badder can sugar up as THCA crystallizes), which is normal and doesn't mean it's spoiled.
