What dry herb vaporizers are
A dry herb vaporizer is a battery-powered device with a chamber you pack with ground flower. It heats the flower to a set temperature and produces vapor from it instead of combusting it, and there is no flame involved.
Devices differ mainly in how they heat: conduction warms the chamber walls directly, convection pushes hot air through the flower. Convection generally gives more even results; conduction devices are usually smaller and cheaper.
How they differ from vape cartridges
Cartridges and disposables contain cannabis oil — distillate or live resin — in a sealed unit with its own heating element. You attach a battery or use it as-is, and when it is empty it is done.
A dry herb vaporizer uses the same flower you would put in a pipe or a joint. That means the products are not interchangeable: flower goes in a herb vaporizer, oil goes in a cartridge. Herb devices need grinding, packing, and emptying; cartridges need none of that.
Why customers may choose a dry herb vaporizer
The reasons customers usually give are flavor, temperature control, and using flower without a flame. Lower temperatures produce a lighter, more aromatic vapor; higher temperatures give a denser draw.
There are trade-offs. The upfront cost is higher than a pipe, devices need charging, and chambers need regular cleaning. If you rarely use flower, a cartridge or a pre-roll is simpler. We do not make health or safety claims about any consumption method.
Cleaning and maintenance basics
Empty the chamber after each session while it is still warm, and brush out residue. Screens and mouthpieces benefit from an isopropyl soak every week or two of regular use, followed by a full dry before reassembly.
Keep contacts dry, avoid submerging the body of any battery-powered device, charge with the supplied cable, and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Store the device out of reach of children and pets.
