Dennis McDonald: 3 Things I Can't Smoke Without

Dennis McDonald is the actor behind Reggie — the breakout supporting character in 2024's Bad Boys: Ride or Die (Bad Boys 4). His scene opposite Will Smith and Martin Lawrence turned into one of the most-quoted moments of the film and made "Where the fuck is Reggie?" a permanent part of the internet's vocabulary. Off-screen he's a working actor, content creator, and a regular Good Grades customer.

"This is Dennis McDonald, aka Reggie from Bad Boys 4, and I'm here live at Good Grades, and these are the three things that I can't smoke without." That's the entire intro, delivered with the same easy charisma that turned a few minutes of Bad Boys: Ride or Die into one of the most-quoted scenes of 2024.

If you don't know the moment — "Where the fuck is Reggie?" — you've still seen it. The clip ricocheted around the internet for months. The guy holding the mic at Good Grades is the same guy on the other side of that scene, and he came prepared with a full smoking kit, not a script.

"This is Dennis McDonald, aka Reggie from Bad Boys 4. Live at Good Grades."

"The first thing I can't smoke without is my crusher. I call him Mr. Suit and Tie. You know what I'm saying? He got the suit and tie on."

The grinder gets a name, a backstory, and a job description in two sentences. "He makes sure I crush everything nice. I love this thing right here." It's a small detail that says a lot about how he treats the ritual: the grind isn't an afterthought, it's the opening move. If Mr. Suit and Tie isn't in the room, the session hasn't started yet.

"I call him Mr. Suit and Tie. He makes sure I crush everything nice."

He cheats the format a little on the second answer — and admits it. "The second thing I can't smoke without, it's actually about three things, but it's the second thing." The first half: "The grabba, the tips. I can't go nowhere without these tips."

Then the wrap. "And black roll paper. I cannot smoke without black roll paper." It's a specific aesthetic — black papers, a real tip, no blunt. Together they're his rolling kit, and the tips are the part he singles out as the thing that travels everywhere.

"I can't go nowhere without these tips. And black roll paper."

The third pick is the one that ties the whole answer together. "And I can't smoke without a Quiet Riot book bag. I put all of this in here and we get to traveling."

It's the smoker's version of a go-bag. The grinder, the tips, the papers — everything from answers one and two — lives in the Quiet Riot bag and rolls out the door with him. For a working actor moving between sets, premieres, and cities, the kit only works if it's portable. Dennis's third thing is the portability itself.

"I put all of this in here and we get to traveling."
